The Big Shoogle is the World’s Rockiest Ceilidh Band! They play high-energy jigs and reels cheekily mashed up with rock riffs and rhythms, electrifying fiddle melodies, rocky accordion, and guitar underpinned with infectious drum beats.  

As the band likes to say, if Carlsberg made Ceilidh Bands, they probably wouldn’t be as exciting as The Big Shoogle!

With strong influences from ceilidh, Celtic, Cajun, Rockabilly, & Pop, all added together and shoogled!! The Big Shoogle will have you dancing like an expert! The caller does all this in an informal and fun way. 

They play all the best-known favourite ceilidh dances and some more unusual ones– which are not for the faint-hearted.

International festivals like Celtic Connections Lorient and headlined the Ceilidh Tent one year at T in the Park. They are as comfortable playing to large festival audiences and corporate events as they are at small functions.

The setlist includes all the most popular ceilidh dances including, The Gay Gordons, Strip The Willow,  Hamilton House, The Duke of Perth, the Reel of the 51st Division and “modern” dances such as Quickstep, Foxtrot and the Old Time Waltz if required.
