John Morgan After Dinner and Motivational speaker for Dinners, Conferences and Burns Nights
“One of the best after-dinner speakers you will ever hear” is the way John Morgan’s mother described him. He was born in Glasgow, brought up in Greenock, and has lived in Bridge of Allan for the last forty-odd years. He describes the experience as “Glasgow born, Greenock bred, Bridge of Allan refined”.
A MAN FOR ALL OCCASIONS
That cocktail of geographic influences allows John to be adaptable to any company. He is equally at home with the raw meat of the stag event or the sensitivity of the Immortal Memory.
Known for his often-cutting humour, John likes to know something of the background to any event at which he is speaking. He believes it is important for a speaker to be part of a company rather than merely “in attendance.”
ROBERT BURNS
An expert on the life and works of Robert Burns John has a great love of the bard’s poems and songs. He chairs a number of Burns Suppers on an annual basis and has performed at many more where his particular skills are the Immortal Memory, Toast to the Lassies, and a growing repertoire of Burns recitations. He has organised and chaired Burns Suppers in London, Manchester, Canada, and his hometown of Bridge of Allan!
MOTIVATIONAL
In real life, John was an Ad Man and boss of one of Scotland’s most prominent advertising agencies. He has also spoken on many occasions on advertising, business, and entrepreneurial themes. He has chaired Scotland’s largest and most dynamic annual business event – The Entrepreneurial Exchange Dinner & Awards since it began in 1995.
John is always ready to tackle most things and has commentated at Highland Games, The World Pipe Band Championships, and other sporting events.
John’s humour, style and repertoire are equally suited to both all-male and mixed audiences.
His Alter Ego
John’s hilarious alter ego, Colonel Willie Hunter Down a deadpan, rather “posh” presentation of a Colonel, mixes his “experiences” through his military career and running the family business (farming, shooting etc.) with his supposed experience within the industry/ profession relating to the dinner or event.
