Frank McAvennie former Scottish footballer now a regular face on TV and the after-dinner speaking circuit. Frank entertains a wide range of audiences at charity functions, dinners, sports award ceremonies and more. Best known for his time with Celtic and West Ham United he had two spells with both of these clubs and also picked up five full caps at senior level for Scotland during the 1980s, scoring one goal in that time.

In all, Frank played more than 390 games with a tally of 136 goals in the domestic game. He scored 56 for Celtic when they won the Scottish Premier league in 1987-88 and the Scottish Cup, also in 1988.

After joining St. Mirren in 1980 where he remained for five years before being signed to West Ham Macca formed an outstanding partnership with young English striker Tony Cottee.
In his first season with West Ham, the team reached their highest ever final position in English football with Frank scoring 26 goals, making him the second-highest goal scorer in the league that season.

Known for having something of a crazy and fun-filled playboy lifestyle, Frank was a favourite with the fans of every club where he played.

He has more recently been parodied regularly on the BBC’s football comedy programme Only an Excuse by Jonathan Watson with the famous catchphrase “Where’s the Burds” and has a spot on football show Soccer AM.
