John Morgan

After
Dinner Speaker
John Morgan
“One of the best after dinner speakers you will ever
hear” is the way John Morgan’s mother described him. He
was born in Glasgow, brought up in Greenock, and has
lived in Bridge of Allan for the last thirty-odd years.
He describes the experience as “Glasgow born, Greenock
bred, Bridge of Allan refined”.
A MAN FOR ALL OCCASIONS
That cocktail of geographic influences allows John
to be adaptable to any company. He is equally at home
with the raw meat of the stag event or the sensitivity
of the Immortal Memory.
Known for his often cutting humour, John likes to
know something of the background to any event at which
he is speaking. He believes it is important for a
speaker to be part of a company rather than merely “in
attendance.”
ROBERT BURNS
His great love of Burns sees him chairing a number
of Burns Suppers on an annual basis and performing at
many more where his particular skills are the Immortal
Memory, Toast to the Lassies, and a growing repertoire
of Burns recitations. He has organised and chaired Burns
Suppers in London, Manchester, Canada and Bridge of
Allan!
……AND MORE!
In real life he is Chief Executive of Merle, one of
Scotland’s most prominent advertising agencies, and has
also spoken on many occasions on advertising, business
and entrepreneurial themes. He has chaired Scotland’s
largest and most dynamic annual business event – The
Entrepreneurial Exchange Dinner & Awards since it began
in 1995. He is always ready to tackle most things and
has commentated at Highland Games, The World Pipe Band
Championships and other sporting events.
John’s humour, style and repertoire is equally
suited to both all-male and mixed audiences.
