Dean Park
Scotland’s Top Comedian/Vocalist

Biography

Dean was born in Glasgow and has been making an impression in show business ever since his school days. He started his career as a singer with a band called Suzi which did very well on “Opportunity Knocks”. He later became a solo singer.

His first experience in theatre was at the Gaiety Theatre, Ayr in 1978 with a good part in Mother Goose. Dean has since gone on to play at numerous theatres throughout the UK.

Dean is a long way from where he first started out in the business. His only ambition was to become a successful entertainer. Indeed he initially relied on his singing voice but gradually the comedy began to develop. Now his act is a mixture of comedy and impressions within a musical theme accentuating the sense of humour of this very talented artiste. But he has never wanted to be pigeon-holed for anything that he does. He’s an entertainer pure and simple.

Throughout his career Dean has toured with some of the top names in the entertainment business these have included Jack Jones, Deacon Blue, Lulu, Ken Dodd, Les Dawson, Bob Monkhouse and Joe Longthorne to name but a few. He has also toured the Middle East with the Barron Knights and Gerry & the Pacemakers, and two national tours with Lena Martell.

Dean’s television work has included Ted Roger’s 3.2.1. Les and Dustin’s Laughter Show, Make ‘em Laugh, Granada television’s the Comedians, BBC’s Punch Drunk, STV’s Funny Farm, Patter Merchants and the Hogmanay Show.

Dean has performed in Panto in the Ayr Gaiety, has hosted a morning show on Radio Clyde and recently performed and hosted “Star for a Night” at the Kings Theatre, Glasgow.
