The Royal Burgh of Renfrew Pipe Band is a Grade 3A competing band registered with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association. The band regularly plays at competitions and corporate events, as well as festivals across the globe.
The band was formed in 1994 by members of the original Renfrew Pipe Band; some of which continue to play with the band today. Under the direction of Pipe Major Stuart MacKenzie, the band has won several competitions in Scotland as well as performing in across Europe in recent years.
The band is flying to France… Again! Last September the band performed in the beautiful village of Villa La Grand, just 30 minutes from Geneva. After impressing the locals we have been invited to return to the festival to put on another show. This year, there will be a collaboration between the Royal Burgh of Renfrew and Kilsyth Thistle Pipe Band in order to provide a group of 50 performers. Monthly group practices will ensure the larger band is on top form for the festival!
Plans for the band to perform at Spain’s famous folk festival held in Ortigueira are confirmed! The festival boasts some of the finest folk musicians in Europe as well as drawing crowds from around the world.
The band is flying out on the 17th of July for 6 days of music, dancing and partying.
