Des Clarke TV & Radio presenter comedian, after dinner speaker and event host,is one of the UK’s most exciting rising stars.
Des has made a name for himself as both a highly successful comedian and as one of television’s hottest young presenters. Des is also a brilliant host and after dinner speaker for Charity Balls and corporate events
He has also made the breakthrough into prime time television as anchor of BBC 1 Scotland’s live Children in Need coverage for the last three years and hosts his own weekly show on BBC Radio Scotland, Des Clarke’s Friday Feeling.
2014 was a massive year for Des. He performed live to over a quarter of a million people during the 11 days of the Commonwealth Games and hosted the live Closing Ceremony to a global TV audience of 1 billion viewers. This year he will be performing live to thousands of people again, providing entertainment and commentary at both the Six Nations rugby matches and Scotland Euro 2016 matches.
He is also a much loved voice on the airwaves and can be heard waking up central Scotland every morning as host of the Capital Breakfast Show. Des’s radio work has earned him widespread industry recognition, winning a British Radio Award and receiving nominations in both the Arqiva and Sony Awards. Des recently helmed the radio series Schemes and Dreams, where he interviewed celebrities about their roots, and his new weekly 6 part comedy series, Des Clarke Exposed, is coming soon to BBC Radio Scotland.
Over the years he has interviewed some of the showbiz world’s biggest names including Rihanna, Robbie Williams, Britney Spears, One Direction and Katy Perry.
Des is also well known as a celebrity newspaper columnist, and as an accomplished After Dinner Speaker.
