After Dinner speaker Eric Davidson is one of the funniest after dinner speakers in Scotland today.With his hilarious satirical poetry along with lovely personal anecdotes, Davidson has built a huge reputation on the after dinner circuit.
Since coming to the fore in 2005, Eric has spoken at numerous sporting and corporate dinners all over the UK. That year, he was the principal speaker at the high profile Scottish Football Writers’ Dinner.
In 2006, along with Sam Torrance, he was the guest speaker at the Scottish Professional Golf Association Lunch and he also entertained the guests at Celtic and Scotland legend, Tommy Burns’ Testimonial Dinner.
He was raised in that Cultural Cul De Sac, the Creme de la Skimmed Milk of all Scottish mining villages, Newtongrange.
Davidson has won a number of high profile speaking awards. In 2005 he won the prestigious St Columba’s Hospice charity Wits Dinner at Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh. In 2006, he was victorious at the Edinburgh Wags Dinner held at the Roxburghe Hotel in aid of the charity, Epilepsy Scotland and in April 2007, he was victorious at the St Columba’s Hospice charity, Wit of Wits Dinner, again held at the Prestonfield House Hotel.
Eric is also a Burns aficionado and enjoys speaking at Burns Suppers the length and breadth of the UK. He has spoken at some of Scotland’s leading Burns events including, the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, Scottish Alzheimer, Glasgow Rangers and the biggest and most respected in Scotland, the Bridgeton Burns Club in Glasgow.
He now lives with his wife Jackie and two young daughters in the Midlothian village of Pathhead.
