The Folk, Latin American and Caribbean style bands we offer for hire produce their own sort of atmosphere when you want music that's a wee bit different for your wedding, event or party. Beats of Brazil
Beats of Brazil are a performance percussion group. Playing various Brazilian grooves, from the fast, energetic rhythms of the world famous Rio Carnival to the infectious laid back Samba Reggae beats of Salvador.... and much more!!!
Over the last 4 years the band have performed all over the country at various festivals, carnivals, club nights and events of every kind.
John is just back from his latest 5 month trip to Brazil, where he has been training and performing with world class percussionists and playing in Carnivals in both Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, Brazil.
Tthis year looks set to see the bands hottest performances yet!!!!

La Sonera Calaveros
La Sonera Calaveras were formed in Glasgow, autumn 1999, by a collection of musicians, based in Glasgow and Fife and from a variety of musical backgrounds ranging from Folkloric to Latin to Jazz, etc.
Having an ability to bring energy, sunshine & warmth to even the coldest day has ensured that the audience is always guaranteed a great gig.

Sun Sea and Sand
The Sun Sea and Sand Steel Band consists of a single tenor (or lead) pan, one double second pan and one double guitar pan.
On stage the live sound of these three instruments is complimented by adding a pre-recorded rhythm-section to give a greater flexibility and realism to the bands repertoire.
The band plays many of the popular Caribbean melodies such as:

Tropical Heatwave
Tropical Heatwave is a Caribbean music combo that's sure to surprise and delight with the exciting sound of steelpans at its core.
Listen or dance to spicy calypso, rumba, samba, meringue or reggae. Party along with the band to a range of carnival dances or take a chance with the limbo. All guaranteed to take you across the Caribbean and back in one night; in one show!
Caribbean backdrops. Stage lighting. PA plus vocals and harmonies. Great fun and a totally tropical ambience!

Haggerdash - Folk Group
Haggerdash is one of Scotland's favourite Folk Groups. Playing a wide range of songs and tunes.
Haggerdash are much in demand for festivals and folk clubs as well as having many performances in Norway, Denmark and France to their credit.
They have had many influences over the years and this is shown in the wide range of material that they perform.
Haggerdash also perform many of their own songs.
Caribbean Harmonics
The Caribbean Harmonics steel band provides exotic and scintillating sounds of the Caribbean.
Usually performing as a 4 piece steel band they are now recognised as one of the longest established and best in their field.
Bruce Davies
Bruce Davies has been a full time professional musician and entertainer since 1984, making close to 200 appearances annually, mainly in Scotland but has also performed in England, Wales, Germany, Nigeria, Jamaica and made 25 tours in the USA.
He is equally at home in a formal setting or more intimate atmosphere, thanks to his respect for his audience and ability to be informal while retaining the discipline of a seasoned theatre act. Depending on the situation, he can work unamplified or with a state of the art P.A. system, perfectly matched for the job. He dresses to suit the occasion: - smart trousers and stage shirt, highland dress (formal or casual) or in casual jeans etc.
His rich, deep voice, and his six and twelve string guitar playing, has received much critical acclaim, as has his ability to "Address the Haggis" and his "accessible, but unique" style.
His choice of material has a great variety of sources - the great standards of many genres plus engaging performances of Scottish Folk Music. In America, he has often been described as a "Scottish John Denver"! Bruce is a former winner of the highly prestigious Edinburgh Songwriting Competition.

North Sea Gas
North Sea Gas are Dave Gilfillan, Ronnie MacDonald and Grant Simpson.
On occasion within Scotland, North Sea Gas are augmented by the wonderful talents of Gerry McKenna. Going on for twenty-nine years!! and stronger than ever.
One of Scotland's most popular bands, with Guitars, Mandolin, Fiddle, Bouzouki, Bodhrans, Whistles, Banjo, great vocals with tremendous three part harmonies.

SambaYaBamba
The Glaswegian musical melting pot that is SambaYaBamba has been raising the roof around Scotland, the UK, and across Europe for over 12 years now.
SambaYaBamba is one of the most unusual experiments in live dance music Britain has to offer. Taking the instruments of Brazilian percussion, they smash their way up through everything from drum and bass, hip hop, old school funk, via ska, breakbeat, bhangra...whilst not forgetting where it all started - the most infectious Brazilian rhythms on the planet.
SambaYaBamba is an exuberant outfit with a heavy-weight live act including a thunderous 25 piece bateria , stomping brass section and two Scottish MCs for good measure.
Fusion is what SambaYaBamba does best, with typical Glaswegian flair - and rest assured they will stop at nothing to keep their crowds bouncing and in no doubt they’ve experienced a band unlike any other.
