Haud Yer Lugs Ceilidh Band is a lively, professional Glasgow-based group guaranteed to provide their guests with a great evening’s entertainment!

The band has built an enviable reputation as the best young Ceilidh band in the country. An energetic 4 piece band comprising fiddle/keyboards/percussion and guitar are highly experienced and suitable for a variety of occasions including graduation balls, weddings, dinner dances and Xmas Party nights.

Loudon Ceilidh Band

The Loudon Ceilidh Band is a lively three piece, featuring Guy on accordion, Jennifer on keyboards and Elizabeth on fiddle. Experienced musicians in their own right, they have been gigging together for the past six years.

Aware that not everyone is familiar with ceilidh dancing, band leader, Guy is an accomplished dance caller, bringing humour and fun to the art of describing dances and encouraging audiences on to the floor.

From the beautiful St. Bernard's Waltz to the foot-stomping Orkadian Strip The Willow, Loudon have demonstrated their lively repertoire at venues throughout Central Scotland, playing at all types of functions including weddings, graduation balls and corporate events.

They can also play for less well-known dances upon request.

Norman Mackay's Ceilidh Experience

The Ceilidh Experience was originally formed in 2002 when established musicians Norman Mackay and Carrie Thomas started gigging as an accordion/fiddle duo.

The band performs at ceilidhs all over the country from weddings, festivals & functions to their biggest crowd in June 2005 when they played for 5000 dancers on Edinburgh's meadows breaking the world record for the biggest ever eightsome reel!

The Picts

Formed in February 1997, The Picts have quickly become one of the most popular live bands on the folk rock and concert scene.

They have reached out with their unique brand of Celtic Rock and captivated hundreds of audiences both at home and abroad.

There is a considerable influence of original material combined with the traditional. The sets are upbeat and irresistible for dancing. The songs (both original and traditional) are powerful and rocky, yet retain their original sentiment, feeling and intimacy.

Robbie Shepherd's Nightmare

Robbie Shepherd’s Nightmare is a combination of three superb musicians from diverse backgrounds. Each member of the band is a respected performer in his own field, and their wide-ranging influences and abilities have combined to create one of the most powerful, danceable sounds around.

Accordionist Charles MacLeod, guitarist Tom Richardson and Graham Barclay (drums) are united by their dedication to playing music of the highest quality and giving people a good time!

Shoestring

ShoeString are a 6 piece ceilidh and covers band comprised of Ian on keyboards, Gillian on fiddle vocals and percussion, Craig on drums/percussion, Laurie rhythm guitar and vocals, and Clark and Ron, alternating between lead guitar /bass guitar and vocals.

Ron and Clark, call the Ceilidh dances when required and can teach excellent new set dances and reels to your guests, within minutes, at your wedding or party, or for a really special event, ex Scottish Highland dancing champion, teacher and professional caller Gillian Whitelaw, will come along, and call for your Ceilidh.

Gillian can even provide dancers to demonstrate the dances, for a small extra fee.

All members of the band have many years experience in the music world, and the band can switch between Folk music, Ceilidh and Pop with ease. Pop covers range from Beatles to Greenday, and Elvis to Snow Patrol.

Thistle Dubh Ceilidh Band

The Thistle Dubh Ceilidh Band was formed at the dawn of the new millennium. Their creative, energetic and vibrant style of playing will ensure that their blend of music is enjoyed by the novice, discerning dancer and musical enthusiast alike.
